Six Word Saturday

I have two 6WS today!

F1 Is Back...Happy Little Boy

And

Chippies Last Week Of Being Eight

These are two very important thoughts in this house at the moment!

First F1.... this is the major thing in my youngest sons life at the moment...dear old F1....said with a wry smile.

I don't know if F1 found Chippie or if Chippie found F1 but they are like that 'crosses fingers'

It's all about F1.

He sleeps, eats and breathes F1 and so therefore so do I!

Even if I don't want to!

I can quote the drivers, the tracks,I even know a few car names now...it's intense!

So welcome back F1...said through gritted teeth...

And the second 6WS so close to my heart!

In less than one week my young Chippie will be a big number 9!

8 years old no more!

The last time I will ever have a 8 year child.

When I had Chippie I knew I was being given a extra special gift, the chance to be a mum one more time and I said to my heart that I didn't want to be sad about when he grew up,as with the older boys I used to want to save time with them and it's something that is impossible of course,so with this last baby I wanted to look on the side of how lucky I was to have this time again...no bitter sweet regrets....but of course you can't easily change how you are inside and I do have a slight twinge when the thought of him growing a year older crosses my mind.

I want to make the most of this week tho, give him lots of attention and really key into his last week of being 8.

So that's my weekly 6WS thoughts, pop over to the host of this linky Cate who blogs at Show My Face
and read some more 6Ws

  2. Growing old is hard on all of us. They don't stay babies for long unfortunately.

  3. Yeah, I was 8 once, over half a century ago; and what's not to like about F1 racing,eh?

    bittersweet for you, though.

  4. What a lovely outlook you have, Jess. You sound like a very special mum. When I remember back over all the huge enthusiasms I went along with... yes, Formula One was in there. We'll be keeping an eye on it, but not quite so avidly anymore. Guitars and recording studios now.

  5. Happy birthday to you both and although he is your last one at 8 there will someday be grandchildren and you will revel in your memories of your own children at that age...

    Have a great week Jess

  6. I understand how you feel! It's hard every time a new milestone is reached. It's wonderful and saddening at the same time. Happiest Birthday to Chippie!

  8. Congratulations to Chipmonk and Jess!!! ~~ I can't remember much when I turned nine, can you? I do remember listening to the radio on Pearl Harbor Day.

I hope your 6WS went fine. Mine was busy so far and it's about over now.

    1. Before I went into the Army way back when my friend and I had a race car. It was a Modified Stock Car, a 1934 Ford Coupe.

We raced every Sunday night in Lincoln, Nebraska, but would have taken it to another town for Saturday night racing.

Chippie might like those too, they race more often than the F1's. Mrs. Jim doesn't like the stock cars though because they race on a dirt track and kick up a lot of dust.

    2. Forgot to say, the local races are reasonably priced too. I don't know what ages get children's rates.

  9. For some reason I couldn't react here earlier so I'm trying again ;)
Happy Birthday! I can imagine that time is flying way too fast! You are right, it's so important to enjoy every moment!
I noticed a *lot* of F1 on my timeline at FB that's how I found out it's going on. How interesting that your Chippie is so much into it! I like it when kids have a passion! Pretty intense for you though!!
