Flashing Eyes
It starts ok
Smiles, hands held and lots of chatter.
We reach work
Coats taken off, bags plonked down
A little boy stands watching
Knowing he mustn't interrupt
Desperate to talk
And only his mummys glance stops the words tumbling out
And that makes him scratchy
He starts to bristle
And as his mummy's glance warns him,his glance warns her!
Flashing eyes!
No calm eyes just reminding him to stop the chatter
His eyes are not calm
They flash!
The school bell rings
He goes, glances back at his mummy with those eyes
Parting is such sweet sorrow

This was written after reading Spencers Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow
From that I found this and really wanted to give it a go.
So here is my attempt, pop over to Julia at Julias Place
to read about the 100 Word Challenge
I love this post, and thanks for mentioning me. I'm glad you gave it a go and hope that the challenge for you was as worthwhile as I found it.
ReplyDeleteSee you next week? Same time same place? ;-)
Thanks for the lovely comment.Yes the challenge was very worthwhile! Not my normal rambling on type of post, which made it fun (in a way) to write,as I had to use the old grey matter (and THAT never comes easy!) But I did enjoy doing it and Im quite sillyily proud of my effort!
DeleteFunniest thing ever was when I started to count words, the kids thought I had lost the plot, finally! And I dont know about you but when I started writing I thought I had used a real small amount of words and when I counted I was already on 141 words and only half way through!Thats when I thought 'yikesy'
Definitely see you next week,I know the place but Im not sure of the time,I must find out when the prompt goes out and then I can do it all again...the counting...the stressing...the walking up and down the room muttering 105 words...the modifying...hee!
