Boys

Two boys climbing

On a sunny Bank Holiday Monday

One mum stood watching them

Smiling at them being together

One boy thinks he is king of the castle

One mum knows he's really the little rascal

One boy poses nicely for his mum

In the background the other boy plays with a stick

One boy with yet another wolfie toy

One boy never changes

No matter how old or how tall he gets

And this mum loves them both

So very,very much

Morrisons
My cage has been rattled this week by people being so rude and condescending to people who work in supermarkets.

I work in a nursery and if anything is ever going wrong job wise people will always say

"Well there is always Morrisons"

Or

"I may as well go and work at Morrisons"

And my own son yesterday said it

"If I fail my A-levels there is always Morrisons"

Hang about what are you trying to say?!?

 Life is heavenly at Morrisons?

People there are still bosses at Morrisons and while some may be fair, some may not.

There are deadlines to meet and some staff that don't pull their weight and others that do.

There will be cliques, wherever there are people there will be cliques, that's just human nature.

There will be job disappointment as promotions are offered and some will get it whilst others will not.

New rules will come in and the staff will moan and the supervisors will have the job of saying things that the workforce do not like.
Happens everywhere guys, yep even at Morrisons

I just hate how easy people seem to think it is to get a job at Morrisons and how they think life is oh so easy working in Morrisons or any of the big supermarkets.

To me it's so flipping condescending or perhaps I'm reading it wrong!

What do you think?Anybody work in one of the big supermarkets? Is life all peaches and cream there?Tell all,I for one would love to know!

Stickers At Bedtime
We always enjoy bedtime here.

Chips loves going to bed and will ask to go to bed about 6.45 every night,he is a sleepy boy who gets tired out and therefore needs a earlyish bedtime.

We always read before I tuck him in for the night,at the moment we are on book three of Enid Blytons Mystery Series,we love these books and I can see them keeping us busy for the foreseeable future,we have 13 more in the series!

And now we have got another nice little routine going.

Chips is doing a comic after story time.
He likes to stick all the stickers in and then read the story before he drops off to sleep.

Its something nice to look forward to each night.

He's happy sticcking the stickers in and loves the anticipation of something new each night.

im happy because he is using all these comics up!

Dandelions

Recently I've been looking at dandelions differently.

Instead of seeing weeds I've been seeing bright yellowness.

Cheery bright yellow!

And this is why ~ Chips

It was Chips who rushed out onto the patio and exclaimed

"Mummy, look at the beautiful yellow flowers.Who put these here?"

I went to see what he was talking about and found these dandelions

My first thought was to laugh and say, they are not flowers they are weeds but I stopped and asked him what he liked about them and he said the pretty colour.

And I looked again.

He was right,it was a pretty yellow and it's petals were soft and floaty and it was a survivor....it could grow anywhere.

Just because they are known as weeds do we all need to hate them?

To me it seemed a bit too close to home....

Flowers such as roses, daffodils, tulips were ok.

Whereas the simple dandelion was public enemy number one and thought of as wrong and not beautiful.

Society putting ideas into peoples heads of things that were beautiful and therefore right and a plain old dandelion was just a weed not needed, not beautiful, just something to get rid of and certainly not anything to be thought of as appealing.

In most peoples eyes weeds are no good and need pulling up. They are given no time at all and perhaps this is right,as I guess they grow where they are not wanted and upset a lot of people.

But does this make them wrong and not worthy?

I'm not so sure.

Because when I looked through my child's eyes I saw the brightness of the flower, the tenacity of it,the unexpected places that it grew and I began to smile.

And ever since my conversation with Chipmunk I have noticed dandelions more and each time I do I now smile.

Yet another thing Chips has taught me.

Monday Musings

Today was a most unusual bank holiday....we had sun!

Since when has that happened lately!

We had a nice drifty start to the day, just me and Chips finishing our latest mystery book.

And blow me down,Chips got the villain right! And seriously I thought I had it in the bag! I was wrong! And the look on Chips face was magic....I guess....a sort of 'I was right, you were wrong kind of look. Next time Chips I will be right!I must up my game!

We are on a new mystery book now, only thirteen more to read!

The morning drifted on,washing was done, breakfast was scoffed and the day rolled along nicely.

Chips played outside on his scooter and then managed to get his football totally entangled in my white washing!

We went out to Cresswell Crags for the afternoon and had a lovely stroll around the lake.

After all the walking, running and clambering up and down the hills we went to McDonald's and then ended the day by relaxing at home.

We started a new mystery book at bedtime and apart from me frantically searching for the missing apron tonight,it has been quite a relaxed day.

Let's hope the sun stays with us for the foreseeable future,a bit of sun seems to perk us all up.
Five Days

So I have had five days off work, the way I feel I could do with fifty five days off or 155 days off or even more,I'm sure you get the picture,I need a rest.

Things are changing all around me and I'm not settled,I'm tired out and doing normal everyday stuff takes a massive amount of effort.

As written here I'm balancing all this with eating copious amount of biscuits and going to bed early, unfortunately I'm up early too so I'm still tired out and yet another day rolls by in the same fashion.

But these five days have not been all bad,far from it.The lull has given us chance to rest up and in this world of hectic busyness this might not be such a bad thing.

Chips has had a great time watching motogp and judging by the facts he can repeat to me he has taken a lot in and really enjoyed himself.

Sharky has been out all over with his mates and he is still persisting with that board, grrrr!
He informs me that it's been a month since he has been skateboarding. He has got bruises everywhere and cuts, grazes and scars too.I ask myself why do boys like war wounds so much?!?
Hmmm, when all is said and done though there are a lot worse things a teen could be doing.

Tiger has been zipping around in his car,he took Chips to Morrison's today and Chips was delighted to go with him, especially when he came back with a diarylea lunchable courtesy of his big brother.

The weather has been good,no rain on a bank holiday! That's unheard of! This has meant the washing line has been full every day, nice clean clothes,if only they would put themselves away I'd be on a winner!

Perhaps resting up is just what we all need.
