This Week Kids I Promise

Its that time of the week again where i have to put my thinking cap on and make a promise to one or all of my children.

Last week I promised to get into the Christmas spirit with the boys....so.... I guess I didn't do bad,we spent a lot of time singing We Wish You A Merry Christmas and Jingle Bells and we had a lovely trip to the shops to buy Advent Calenders.

So the Christmas spirit is slowly but surely drifting into our home.

This week my promise is;

To Practice Your Spellings Every Night 

Now my son and I have a ongoing hatred of spellings,so this is a biggie for us!

It takes quite a considerable amount of work for Chipmunk to retain spellings.

 I do everything possible to help him,practice a lot,laminate the actual words onto a matching board,cutting round the actual shape of the letters so he feels the letters as well as hears,sees and writes the words.

 Infact I guess you couldn't do much more and still our results are poor :-/

 Well last week we had a school project to hand in and so we didn't practice the spellings so much and I know today he will struggle and that makes me sad.

I don't necessarily want a fantastic speller but I don't want to send him into a spelling test feeling unprepared.

Lets cross our fingers and hope this works because even I'm getting despondent with the situation.

Cant wait to see what everybodys promising this week!

Baby I Promise

Absolutely snowed under with work at the moment so its a flying visit from me over to the lovely Mum Of One to make my promise of the week.

Last week I tried to help my middle son with his choices ready for when he leaves school and then I find out his school has just been put in special measures & one of the reasons being a failing 6th form...argh...that did not please me!Big meeting at the school tomorrow so I will see what comes of that!Grr!

This weeks promise goes to all my boys and it is...

This week boys I'm going to be enthusiastic about Christmas! Yep,singing jingle bells,discussing pressies,I'm going to be as chilled as a penguin when discussing the Christmas word with you!

Don't I just love setting myself up on these promises!

 Baby I Promise

Monday and Monday means amongst other things Baby I Promise!

Well last weeks promise was fab!

I could not believe how seriously I stuck to that promise!

The promise was to make more healthier meals and I pulled it off all week,even through evening appointments at doctors,I still managed healthy meals all week long!

And as I was doing it I thought of all you fellow promise makers and smiled!

But now its a new week,so what can top that promise!

Thinking cap on,,,hmm...I'm struggling here!

I know and this makes me cringe (another hard one,when will I give myself a break)

This week I promise to swap the toys and games in the big purple box

This means a lot of work but I think it will be worth it,a toy swap always excites children and promotes play and I'm a big fan of that.

I love Autumn and its flying by and up to yet I haven't even done one leaf print with Chipmunk.This needs to be sorted!
