Writing
My favourite time to write is early in a morning.

In the dark, with the radio playing softly in the background and a cup of tea nearby.

To add to my blissful writing time, now, is a Christmas Tree....a big beautiful Christmas Tree...whose lights twinkle away in the dark.

To me this is perfect, the mix of dark and pretty fairy lights and of peace with just a little bit of music softly playing in the background and of course the warm cuppa at hand just adds to my state of contentment.

I'm up early,as at weekends Sharky does his paper round and in the week Tigs is at work. I get up to make them a cuppa and to perhaps do a lunchbox for the worker.
Then I have a bit of spare time ( when I'm not working).
I could try to go back to sleep or do a few much needed jobs around the house but too much noise and movement would wake the rest of the house up and once young Chips is awake then my peace is shattered. So I choose to use this time to write. To sit still and put my thoughts onto paper or even onto my phone!

And it's so peaceful at this time in a morning. And the tree looks so pretty shining away in the dark. And when a favourite song comes on the radio life just gets better.

When do you write? And where do you write? I'd love to know...I'm nosey like that!

  1. I like to be up and about on my own early in the morning too. I don't always write then - I usually read (or tweet!). Writing is often on my days off work when the kids are at school, but could be evenings or even when I'm walking to work! Popping over from PoCoLo.

  2. This sounds idyllic, so important to find a moment of peace in an otherwise very busy day. I shall miss my christmas tree when it comes down later today :(

  3. I would love this myself, but would have to set an alarm for 4am to get some peace... I usually snatch my quiet time when my 22mo is napping and her big sister is at school #PoCoLo

  13. What a super blog, it's lovely. I write in the evenings too but think about what I'm writing about during the day, often when pushing the pushchair as it's a rare moment of quiet-until we pass the next piece of litter! Really enjoying reading your blog, and stopped by from #PoCoLo

    1. Thank you SO much for your lovely comment Lystramaisy. I read it just before I went to bed and my teenage son creased up at my reaction...I was all 'hey someone says my blog is ok' and he was just grinning as teens do when their parents start to squee :-) so a big thanks for that!
I used to love pushing our pushchair and I c
can totally see why that would be a ideal time to plot blog posts :-)
Nice to meet you and hope we can chat more in 2014,have a nice weekend

  14. I have ten minutes peace in the morning on school days when I sit and have a quiet cup of tea before the chaos begins, but most of my writing is done in the evening, when I hope at least half of the children are in bed hence me posting now!!

    1. Sounds like me,Mandi. On a week day morning I sometimes get 5-10 mins peace but not always. On a weekend morning is when I get some free time to write and as I wrote I do adore that time...its the mix of soft music, dark and peace,I just find that atmosphere so calming.
I also do write at night too...like now..nibbling on leftovers and sipping wine...that too has its bonuses!

  15. How absolutely lovely - I bet you will miss that tree when it's gone. I now have an office where I enjoy writing - although I have not really had much chance to use it over the last two weeks. I am really looking forward to next week! Thank you for the lovely comment at the end and for linking up to PoCoLo x
